Summer Programs

 

Summer School, UTK-8, Program

The Summer School, UTK-8, Program will be offered in person and is designed to support core instruction, provide targeted academic intervention in a small group setting, as well as in-person enrichment activities in the Arts and Sciences at all participating UTK-8 summer school sites.

 

ELIGIBILITY:  Currently enrolled Los Angeles Unified students with a District ID number in grades UTK – 8^th

 

REGISTRATION:  April 10

 

PROGRAM DATES:  June 20 – July 19 

 

Note:  All programs will be closed on June 19, 2024, July 4, 2024, and July 5, 2024 in observance of the national holidays.

 

TIME:  8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday to Friday

High School Summer Term, Grades 9-12

High school students currently enrolled in Los Angeles Unified can take advantage of the Summer Term program. This program offers credit recovery courses and opportunities to accelerate progress toward high school graduation and preparation for post-secondary education. The program is structured with two periods of in-person classes taught by Los Angeles Unified secondary teachers and two periods of fully virtual asynchronous courses.  

 

ELIGIBILITY:  Current Los Angeles Unified students with a District ID number in grades 9th – 12th

 

PROGRAM DATES: June 20 – July 19

 

Note:  All programs will be closed on June 19, 2024, July 4, 2024, and July 5, 2024 in observance of the national holidays.

 

TIME:  Monday to Friday

        • Nutrition       11:00 to 11:30 a.m.
        • Period 2        11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
        • Period 3 & 4    Asynchronous (Edgenuity curriculum)

Beyond the Bell Summer Enrichment Program, Grades TK – 8

Beyond the Bell will provide in-person enrichment and summer programming at select elementary and middle school sites.

 

ELIGIBILITY:  Current Los Angeles Unified students with a District ID number in grades TK – 8^th

 

PROGRAM DATES:  June 17 – July 28 

 

Note:  All programs will be closed on June 19, 2024, July 4, 2024, and July 5, 2024 in observance of the national holidays.

 

TIME: Hours vary by program and school site

HOW TO APPLY: 

• • • • • Request an application at your child’s school 
        • Complete the application and return it on the first day of the summer program to the Beyond the Bell program staff                        

• • • • • Click on the list of summer host sites
        • Find the school where you would like to enroll your child
        • Click the link to obtain the appropriate summer program application
        • Download, print and submit your application on the first day of summer school   
          to the summer program staff
