Challenge: LA

Challenge Los Angeles is a seven-week competition in which teams of students from various Los Angeles high schools are challenged to develop solutions to complex problems facing their communities.

Challenge Los Angeles is a project-based program that empowers students to become change agents in their communities. Students are presented with various challenges/problems their community members face. This may include, hunger, homelessness, environmental, voter/civic participation, and healthy living choices. Each team of students selects one issue to address. They spend 7 weeks creating, designing and implementing their solution. After the 7 weeks the teams present their work to a team of judges. Students are recognized for their commitment to their communities, awarded opportunities to grow their leadership skills and invited to participate at  events.
